I recently did a black smokey eye using Wet n Wild's Color Icon Palette in Greed. The black is so beautiful, pigmented, and blends SO beautifully. For a champagne color and a brown, I'd go with the Vanity palette because those colors are equally gorgeous, pigmented, and blendable. Good luck!Smokey eye - drugstore products?

The Maybelline quad in Natural Smokes is great! It's made for creating a neutral smokey eye and it tells you exactly where to put each color (lid,crease,brow,etc.).

those maybelline quads :)
Before I started using Lancome and Estee Lauder, I was obsessed with Physician's Formula baked eyeshadow trios. You can use them wet or dry and the pigment is amazing, and they blend very well.
