While the drinking age in all 50 states is 21, there are a few that allow a server who is over 18 but not yet 21 to serve alcohol. You will need to check what the law is in your state. How old do you have to be to be a bartender at a restaurant?
Where I work we have 18 yr old bartenders, but they had to move up from being a server to get there. You can get your bar card at 18 so it makes since to be able to serve it too. But, I'm sure its different by state. You should go in and ask.How old do you have to be to be a bartender at a restaurant?
It depends on what state you are in. I know in illinois you only have to be 19 to serve alcohol, but it varies by state. Anywhere corporate usually has a rule that you have to be 21, even if state law says otherwiseHow old do you have to be to be a bartender at a restaurant?
Yes you can at some places. There is a bartender-school and you have to get authorized. Bartenders make money if you have some vigor.
It wouldn't make sense if an 18 year old was legally able to serve alcohol to no one under the drinking age of 21..
