As above. The comp boots up to the second screen and not the primary one (Dell Main Screen). The curser is elongated as are all the screen icons. When I exit and reboot, all is rectified. Not a serious problem, but just enoying having to bootup twice. This fault is not constant. Some times the comp boots up in the correct order. Answer please?.Windows xp pro installed. If everything looks large when you reach the desktop then it sounds as if Windows is loading its own safe mode universal driver for graphical display rather than your specific one. When you do a warm reboot (without turning the power off) it remembers the settings and that is why it works the 2nd time around.
Have a look in Event Viewer.
Control Panel %26gt;%26gt; Administrative Tools %26gt;%26gt; Event Viewer %26gt;%26gt; System section

Try upgrading to the latest graphics card drivers, could be a graphics card problem.
