It has a AFE cold air intake system and MRBP exaust at the cat back so it breathes well. The vehicle is maintained well and has 43,000 miles on it now. The latest flashes have been done by Ford about 6 months ago when it when in for warranty work (new turbo, EGR cooler, head gaskets, etc...)
Before I lifted it it just had the intake, exuast, and an edge programer that I used very sparringly, usually level one only for the gain in MPG. I was getting a constant 23 MPG as I drove at 70 MPH on the highway with cruise on. Now I'm lucky to get 16 MPG. I don't even check when I tow. Did the lift / big tires effect the drag that much?
Open to all answers or opinons. What should my MPG be for a 04' F250 8" lifted diesel 6.0L 4x4 on 37" pro comp xterrains with 4.56 gears?
With what you have your mileage is going to suffer quite a bit. That is a lot of extra weight and rolling mass which forces the engine to work harder to keep it all going, which increases fuel consumption. Along with all the extra weight and rolling mass you also have a lot more wind resistance with the truck being higher in the air. I'm not sure how you arrived at a 23mpg figure in a 6.0, you must have been one of the lucky few to get that out of one. Getting the MPG you are getting now isn't bad. What should my MPG be for a 04' F250 8" lifted diesel 6.0L 4x4 on 37" pro comp xterrains with 4.56 gears?
2004 F250 Diesel 4x4. I lifted me truck recently. Added 11" of lift and 40" tires. I was getting 17-18MPG, now I am getting 15.9-16.3mpg after my Superlift 33001 Speedometer recalibrator...

What should my MPG be for a 04' F250 8" lifted diesel 6.0L 4x4 on 37" pro comp xterrains with 4.56 gears? You throw a lift and 37" tires on and you think it WON'T kill your MPG. Diesel or not, no vehicle can go uneffected by that kind of change.
If you are getting anywhere around 14-16 you are getting great Gas mileage. Don't complain.
